In 2006 I wrote an article for Sensors Magazine on a step-by-step approach to the task of selecting and setting up a measurement sensor in an Industrial plant environment. It was their next to last printed edition of their magazine and also was published in the online edition at SensorsMag.com.

Since then I have written several follow-up articles for their online Industrial Automation E-Newsletter, expanding on each of the steps in a checklist than was in the original article.

The latest section was just published online in the December 11, 2007 issue of the Sensors Automation.

I think this is a rational approach, one honed by many years of experience and many years of not getting it right all the time.

Does anyone else feel the same way or have other points of view?

Appreciate any and all feedback.
